League position: 18th This was the first time that Burnley had conceded five or more goals in a game at Turf Moor since their 6-1 defeat by Manchester City in the Premier League on 3 April 2010. After 19 games, the Clarets had now conceded 41 goals in this Premier League season; two more than in the completed previous season. Ten of their 13 defeats so far in this Premier League season had now been by a margin of two goals or more; only Fulham had lost more such games (11). They had now conceded four or more goals in six of their last 21 games in the Premier League. Sam Vokes became the third player to make 100 appearances for Burnley in the Premier League after Ashley Barnes and Ben Mee.

Three days after a 6-2 home defeat by Tottenham Hotspur, this was the first time that Everton had scored five or more goals in an away game in the Premier League since a 5-2 win at Sheffield Wednesday on 27 April 1996.
