League position: 11th On club president Dick Knight's 80th birthday and 21 years and one day since the 1-1 draw at Hereford United that retained their Football League status, this win confirmed that Brighton and Hove Albion would stay in the Premier League for the 2018-19 season with two games still to play. This was the Seagulls' first win in their last seven games in the Premier League (lost three). Albion had now won seven and drawn one of their last eight home league games played on a Friday.

League position: 2nd Manchester United had now lost three league games in a season against newly promoted teams for the first time since 1989-90 and the first time that they had lost all three away games. This was United's first defeat in their last 17 league games played on a Friday since 22 December 1978 (3-0 at Bolton Wanderers in League Division One). They remained as the only team in the Premier League yet to draw a game in 2018.
