Comments:

Alex Nicholson replaced Joel Dixon in the first minute of added time in the second half. This was Blyth Spartans seventh tie in this season’s FA Cup competition. Non-League Blyth Spartans have won nine FA Cup matches against league opposition, but only one was against a second tier side, Stoke City in 1978. Former Real Madrid and Portugal winger Luis Figo started following Blyth Spartans on Twitter during this match. Robbie Dale has now scored seven goals in his last six FA Cup appearances (including the preliminary rounds).

Comments:

Lee Novak has scored five goals in his last seven FA Cup games but none in his last 16 in the league. Birmingham City has now lost just one of their last 16 FA Cup matches against lower league opposition.
