Comments:

This was Blackburn Rovers' biggest win in the FA Cup since a 4-0 victory at Luton Town on 27 January 2007 when the current Stoke City boss, Mark Hughes, was their manager. Josh King's hat-trick was Rovers' first in the FA Cup since Tony Field in a 1st round replay against Lincoln City at Ewood Park on 27 November 1972. Their last hat-trick in the competition's last 16 stage or later was in the quarter-final against Derby County on 24 February 1894 via Jamie Haydock. Rovers have now lost only two of their last 21 FA Cup games at Ewood Park. Five opposition players have now been sent-off in Rovers' last five FA Cup games.

Comments:

This was the first time that Stoke City had conceded four goals in a FA Cup game against lower division opposition since 12 January 1935 when they lost 4-1 against Swansea Town at The Vetch in the 3rd round. This was City's first loss in their last seven away games in the FA Cup against lower division opposition. The Potters had won six and drawn one of their last seven meetings with Blackburn Rovers (all Premier League).
