Comments:

Belgium had now won 23 of their last 27 games; the only defeat being against England at Wembley in the UEFA Nations League in October 2020. The Red Devils had now won four games at a UEFA European Championship finals for the first time. Thorgan Hazard became the first player to score in consecutive appearances at a UEFA Championship finals for Belgium.

Comments:

Reigning champions Portugal were eliminated after losing two of their four games at Euro 2020. Their tally of four points from three group games was the lowest points total for a defending champion at a UEFA European Championship finals since Greece in 2008. This was the first time that Portugal had lost a game played in Spain since April 1958 when Alfredo Di Stefano scored the only goal of the friendly match in Madrid.
