Comments:

This was Austria's first-ever win at a UEFA European Championship finals (played seven, lost four). This was their first win at major tournament since a 2-1 victory against USA in Florence in the FIFA World Cup finals group stage on 19 June 1990. This was the first time they had scored three or more goals in a major tournament since the 3-2 win against West Germany at the 1978 World Cup in Argentina. Four of the five goals that Austria had now scored at UEFA European Championship finals had been scored by substitutes; also Ivica Vastic against Poland in 2008 and Alessandro Schöpf against Iceland in 2016.

Comments:

This was North Macedonia's first-ever game at a major tournament. Currently 62 in the FIFA World Ranking, North Macedonia were the lowest ranked team at Euro 2020. Aged 37 years and 321 days, North Macedonia's most capped player and record goalscorer Goran Pandev became the second-oldest player to score at the UEFA European Championship finals after Austria’s Ivica Vastic v Poland in Vienna in 2008 (38 years and 257 days).
