Comments:

League position: 20th Aston Villa had now taken only five points from their first 14 games in this Premier League season. Only three other teams in the competition's history had the same low tally at this stage (Swindon Town in 1993-94, Sunderland in 2005-06 and Queens Park Rangers in 2012-13) and all three went on to finish in the bottom position. Villa had now gone 13 Premier League games without a victory (lost 11). This equalled the club record; also from March to September in 2012. Carlos Sanchez was booked in the ninth minute of added time in the second half.

Comments:

League position: 11th Odion Ighalo was now level with Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane as the leading league scorer in England's top four divisions in 2015 (24 goals each). Troy Deeney had now scored four goals in his last five Premier League games and also became the third Watford player to score in three consecutive Premier League games after Michel Ngonge in 1999 and Allan Smart in 2000. The Hornets had now lost only two of their last eight Premier League away games (won four). Nathan Ake was booked in the eighth minute of added time in the second half.
