Danny Ings failed in his attempt to become the first player to score in each of Villa's opening three games of a league season since Dalian Atkinson in 1992-93 in the Premier League. Manager Dean Smith was in charge of Brentford for 143 games from November 2015 to October 2018 (won 57, lost 51).
