Comments:

League position: 20th Aston Villa extended their club record to 15 league games without a win (lost 12). They also created a new club record of nine home league games without a win. The previous eight-game record had stood since March 1921 Villa had now scored more than one goal in only one of their last eight Premier League and kept only two clean sheets in their 16 league games so far in this season. Their recently-appointed manager Remi Garde made 42 league and cup appearances for Arsenal between October 1996 and February 1999. This was Villa's 500th home defeat in their league history.
