Comments:

These were the first goals that AS Monaco had conceded at home in the UEFA Champions League during the 2014-15 season. They had now reached the Quarter-finals of the Champions League for the third time; the first since 2004.

Comments:

Arsenal had now been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League at the Round of 16 stage for the fifth season in a row. Although almost overcoming overwhelming odds, they failed to become the first away team to progress to the next round in the knockout stages of the Champions League after trailing by two or more goals following the home leg. Ajax were the last team to achieve this feat in the European Cup when they eliminated Benfica in 1969. Aaron Ramsey's goal was the Gunners' 300th in European competition during former AS Monaco manager Arsene Wenger's reign.
