Comments:

Arsenal had now reached the semi-finals of the competition for the third time in the last four seasons, winning the Cup in 2013-14 and 2014-15. The last time they lost to a non-league team in the FA Cup was on 4 February 1911 when - as Woolwich Arsenal - they lost in the 2nd round at Swindon Town then of the Southern League. This was the Gunners' 300th game in all competitions at Emirates Stadium, and their 200th win. Theo Walcott scored in the first minute of added time in the first-half.

Comments:

National League leaders Lincoln City were the first non-league side to reach the last eight of the FA Cup since Queens Park Rangers in 1913-14. This was the furthest the Imps had ever progressed in the FA Cup despite failing in their attempt to become the first non-league club to reach the semi-finals since Swindon Town in 1911-12. City's only previous FA Cup victories against top division teams were against West Bromwich Albion in the 3rd round in 1960-61 and against Burnley in the previous round of this season's competition.
