League position: 3rd Arsenal avoided a run of six consecutive home London league derbies without a win for the first time since October 1974. The Gunners had failed to score in their last six Premier League games against Chelsea. Alexis Sanchez had now scored 47 goals in 100 appearances for Arsenal. Thierry Henry scored 48 goals in his first 100 games for the north London club.

League position: 8th This was Chelsea boss Antonio Conte’s heaviest top division defeat as a manager since Atalanta lost 5-2 to Juventus in Serie A in November 2009. This was the first time that Chelsea had been 3-0 down at half-time in a Premier League game since 8 May 2012 at Liverpool. They had now kept only one clean sheet in their last 13 Premier League games. The Blues had now conceded in each of their last seven away Premier League games.
