Comments:

League position: 5th In their 18th game, this was the first time that Arsenal had led at half-time in a Premier League game in this season. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had now scored 22 goals in his 31 appearances for the Gunners in the Premier League; five more than any other player for them after 31 games. They had now won their last 28 home games in the Premier League against teams in the relegation zone since a 4-4 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on 29 October 2008.

Comments:

League position: 18th Burnley had not now won any of their last 24 away games played in December in the top division since a 1-0 win at West Bromwich Albion in League Division One in 1969. The Clarets had now lost eight of their last 11 games in the Premier League (won one). This defeat meant that they would now spend Christmas in the relegation zone. They were seventh in the Premier League on Christmas Day in the previous season.
