Comments:

This was the first time in Arsene Wenger's managerial career that he had faced a club he had previously managed. Arsenal would now need to create UEFA Champions League history to reach the Quarter-final as no home team has previously lost a first leg of a knockout tie by a two goal margin and progressed to the next round. The Gunners have now kept only two clean sheets in their last eight home games in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored in the first minute of added time at the end of the game.

Comments:

AS Monaco scored more than once in a UEFA Champions League game in the knockout stages for the first time since their Semi-final with Chelsea in 2004. Yannick Ferreira Carrasco scored in the fourth minute of added time at the end of the game.
