Chelsea Football Club was founded in 1905 and are ever-present members of the Premier League, having spent most of their history in the top tier of English football.

They have been English champions five times, FA Cup winners seven times and League Cup winners five times.

As well as winning the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup twice, they won the UEFA Champions League in 2012 and the UEFA Europa League in 2013 to become only the third club to have won all three of Europe?s major club competitions.

The club had their first major success in 1955, when they won the league championship and went on to win several cup competitions during the 1960s and 1970s, but then did not win another major title until 1997.

Under the ownership of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, recent years have been by far the most successful in the London club`s history as they won Premier League titles in 2005, 2006, 2010 and 2015.

The club's home is Stamford Bridge in Fulham Road SW6 where they have played since their foundation in the Rising Sun pub opposite the ground.

In 2015, plans were unveiled in the intention of increasing the current capacity of 41,798 to 60,000 by 2021.
