Chelsea Football Club was founded in 1905 and now play in the Premier League, having spent most of their history in the top tier of English football. They have been English champions four times, FA Cup winners six times and League Cup winners four times as well as winning the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup twice.
The club had their first major success in 1955, when they won the league championship and went on to win several cup competitions during the 1960s and 1970s, but then did not win another major title until 1997.
Recent years have been by far the most successful in Chelsea’s history as they won Premier League titles in 2005, 2006 and 2010, the latter as part of a League and FA Cup Double.
The club's home is the 42,449 capacity Stamford Bridge stadium in Fulham, S.W. London where they have played since their foundation in The Rising Sun pub opposite the ground.
