Theo became the yougest-ever player to make a senior appearance for Southampton when he came on as a sub against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 6 August 2005 at the age of 16 years 143 days. The previous record holder was Danny Wallace who was 16 years 313 days when he made his Saints debut against Manchester United on 29 November 1980.
Theo joined Arsenal in January 2006 for an intial fee of £5million so creating a new British record fee for a 16 year-old. The previous record holder was Jermaine Pennant who joined Arsenal from Notts County in 2000 for £2million. Theo's fee could rise to a maximum of £12million.
Theo broke Wayne Rooney's record as England's youngest-ever player when he made his full international debut against Hungary at Old Trafford on 30 May 2006 at the age of 17 years and 75 days.
