Only leaders Manchester City (24 goals) had now scored more goals than the Hammers (22) in the Premier League so far in this season. Angelo Ogbonna replaced Mark Noble in the second minute of added time in the second half.

Manager Jose Mourinho had now lost six of his last 12 Premier League. Before this run, he had lost six of his previous 64 Premier League games. Nemanja Matic's first booking came as the Hammers broke away seconds after Chelsea thought they had equalised through a Kurt Zouma header.
