League position: 4th Gonzalo Higuaín became the first player to score twice on their home Premier League debut for Chelsea since Mario Stanić against West Ham United on 19 August 2000. He had now scored 38 goals in 37 league appearances under manager Maurizio Sarri. This was the first time that the Blues had scored five goals in a game since a 5-0 win against Stoke City in the Premier League on 30 December 2017. They avoided losing three consecutive games in the Premier League for the first time since November 2015.
