Premier League stats – Week 13 in review

Here’s this week’s selection of some of the stats and facts from the latest round of Premier League games.

In their 89th game, Burnley’s loss to Manchester City was their 50th defeat in the Premier League (won 19) while Dean Marney’s goal was the Clarets’ 50th Premier League goal at Turf Moor.

Hull City captain Michael Dawson has now scored two goals in his last three Premier League appearances after scoring twice in his previous 108.
With two wins and five draws, Ipswich Town in 1962 are the only reigning league champions to have made a worse 13-game start to the defence of their title than Leicester City (three wins and four draws).

At 17 years and 42 days, Ben Woodburn has become the second-youngest player to appear for Liverpool in a league game. Jack Robinson was aged 16 years and 250 days when he made his Premier League debut at Hull City on 9 May 2010.

In the nine-goal thriller at Liberty Stadium, Wilfried Zaha’s goal was the 400th that Swansea City had conceded in the top division (played 287, scored 358) while Christian Benteke’s goal was the 300th that Crystal Palace had scored in the Premier League (played 287, conceded 419).

Tottenham Hotspur now have the same number of points (24) and are in the same position (5th) at the same stage (13 games) of last season.

After losing four of the first five games, Stoke City have now lost only one of their last eight Premier League games.

In their fourth all-time meeting, Callum Wilson’s penalty was the first-ever goal that AFC Bournemouth had scored against Arsenal.

Manchester United have drawn four consecutive home league games for the first time since December 1980 in League Division One.

Everton conceded a first-minute goal in a Premier League game at Southampton for a second time (also an own goal by Antolin Alcaraz on 26 April 2014 after 54 seconds).
