A right back that came back into the international set up after five years in the wilderness.
He began his career at Fernebahce in 1993 and made his international debut in 1995 and made the 1996 European Championship Finals.
He looked set for a long international career but fell out with Fernebahce coach Carlos Albero Parreira and was transferred to Instanbulspor after the 1996 European Championship finals.
This affected his international chances and he was dropped from the squad.
His performances at the club earned him a transfer to Galatasaray in 2000 and an international recall for the last three qualifying matches for the 2002 World Cup finals.
He fitted in well following his recall and, as well as being a competent defender, he is a threat from set pieces.
