With Arsenal, 1st Division Champion 1935, 1938, FA Cup winner 1936. An ex-miner, Arsenal and Leeds legend, who believed "The first man in a tackle never gets hurt.' Veteran of the 'Battle of Highbury' he is recognised as amongst the greatest Arsenal players. He went on to coach Royal Antwerp and the Belgian national team.
