PositionForward

After joining West Ham United in January 2001, Svetoslav was slowly eased into the Premiership by boss Harry Redknapp and was mostly used as a substitute.

He scored his first goal in the FA Cup Quarter-Final against Tottenham Hotspur and also netted in the final game at Middlesbrough.

He was extremely unlucky against Manchester City when he had a volley, close-range shot and header all brilliantly saved, while he superbly set up goals for Paolo Di Canio and Joe Cole against Southampton.

Svetoslav is a speedy striker with a direct style and an excellent first touch.

He could not get a regular place in the first team and moved to Portsmouth in March 2002 for a fee of £500,000 which could rise to £750,000 depending on appearances.

He made the team immediatley but missed the end of the 2001-02 season after picking up a red card against Preston North End.

Svetoslav joined Charlton Athletic in July 2007 with a one-year contract that was extended to June 2009 in June 2008.
