This versatile player joined Brighton & Hove Albion in the 2000 close season.

Although he found a regular place in the first-team squad, he was generally restricted to appearances from the subs' bench or making the starting line-up as cover for injuries and suspensions.

A consistent performer he was mostly used in a central midfield role by the Seagulls and scored the first senior goal of his career in the 3-0 victory over Hull City in March 2001.

Steve teamed up with his former Brighton boss Peter Taylor when he joined Hull City on loan in November 2002 and soon signed a two-and-a-half year contract.

Steve moved on to Boston United in March 2004 with a contract to June 2006.
