With Arsenal, 1st Division Champion 1989, 1991, ECW Cup winner 1994.
A brilliant centre-back who enjoyed an outstanding central defensive partnership at Arsenal with Tony Adams.
One of the saddest events of the 2000-01 season for many Sunderland fans was the retirement of team captain Steve Bould. Although the ex-England centre back had only been at the club for just over a year his contribution at the Stadium of Light was immense, helping the Black Cats find their feet in the Premiership following promotion. He made only one substitute appearance last term, replacing the injured Stan Varga in the 4-2 loss at Maine Road in August before conceding defeat to a persistent toe injury. Having left with the best wishes of all, Steve is reportedly looking to gain coaching qualifications to enable him to stay in the game.
