Came was awarded his first professional contract by Macclesfield Town in September 2000 and made his senior debut in the difficult LDV Vans Trophy match at Chesterfield. He appeared regularly for the reserve and youth sides and produced some useful performances when re-introduced to the first team as cover towards the end of the season. A promising central defender who is good in the air, he is the son of the former Bolton Wanderers player Mark Came.
Came's contract at Macclesfield was cancelled by mutual consent in October 2002.
