After joining West Ham United on loan from Metz in January 2001, Sebastien went on to produce a string of impressive performances for the Hammers. He did well on his debut at Charlton Athletic and played brilliantly in the FA Cup Fourth Round tie at Manchester United when he successfully curbed the threat of Ryan Giggs.
Sebastian re-joined his former Hammers boss Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth when he agreed a two-year deal in August 2003.
