Ward is yet another product of Luton Town's successful youth policy. A promising young goalkeeper he made his Football League debut in dramatic circumstances, coming on from the subs' bench after Mark Ovendale had received a red card at Brentford. His first task was to face the resulting penalty and he did so in style, turning Lloyd Owusu's spot kick round the left-hand post for a corner.
Ward, who joined Crawley Town from Dulwich Hamlet, also played for Chesham United and Grays Athletic.
