This Scottish Under 21 international joined York City on loan from Aston Villa in October 2000 and scored on what was his Football League debut in the 1-1 draw against Leyton Orient.
The tall striker impressed at times but on occasions found it difficult to come to terms with Third Division football. He returned to Villa Park in December to continue his development in the club's reserve team.
