Signed from Kilmarnock schoolboys, Mike was a Scottish schoolboy international who signed as a professional in November 1971. After failing to break into the first team he left for Bristol City in June 1974. He went on to have a long career at Grimsby Town, and several other clubs playing over 450 senior matches in his career.
