Michael, who was previously associated with Tottenham Hotspur, signed his first pro contract with Southend United in December 2003. It ran up to June 2005.
After a loan spell, Michael joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2007 with a contract to June 2009 that was extended to June 2011 in June 2008 and to June 2013 in July 2011.
