NationalityEnglish

PositionDefender/Centre back

Freeman was again a regular in the centre of defence for Cheltenham Town last season before his season was cut short by a back injury. Tall and strong, he is at his best when defending crosses or close-marking opponents. Although sometimes beaten for pace by nippy strikers, he relishes a physical battle against a big target man and rarely comes off second best. A big-hearted character he is one of several long-serving players who have been with the Robins since their days in the Dr Martens League. Released in the summer, he signed for Boston United but was forced to retire in February 2002 due to injury.
