After leaving Wigan Athletic, Lee became a private in the Second Battalion The Parachute Regiment.
He was killed by a roadside bomb in Amara, Iraq on 28 February 2006.
A minute's silence was observed in his honour before the Latics' Premier League game with Manchester United the following week.
