The Oldham Athletic skipper had another honourable campaign at Boundary Park in 2000-01. A workaholic in the centre of midfield he had his best season yet for the club in front of goal, managing to get into double figures despite operating in a relatively withdrawn role. A virtual ever-present in the side apart from a short absence with a hamstring injury in December Lee continued to add steel, tenacity and guile to the Latics' midfield, working in tandem with veteran John Sheridan.
Lee joined Bury in July 2003 on a two-year contract which was cancelled by mutual consent in September 2004.
