After the trials and tribulations of his first season at Hull City, Lee regained his place in the Tigers goal at the start of 2000-01.
However, new manager Brian Little decided to draft in Paul Musselwhite from Sheffield Wednesday and Lee was relegated to the subs' bench from the middle of September.
He featured only twice more during the campaign, replacing the injured Musselwhite at Brighton in March and then standing-in for him in the following match at Plymouth Argyle.
