Wales International

Kit was the unlucky central defender to miss out when Fulham's new manager Jean Tigana opted to switch to a back four instead of a formation of three central defenders and two wing backs. Nevertheless, he helped a very young side through four rounds of the Worthington Cup and when Chris Coleman was badly injured in a car crash, he stepped into the breach to do a superb job for the rest of the 2000-01 season. A regular member of the Wales international squad, Kit won back his place in the team for the World Cup qualifiers late in the season.

After Steve Kember was dismissed as manager of Crystal Palace in November 2003, Kit became caretaker manager until Iain Dowie's appointment.
