The star of the 2003 Manchester United FA Youth Cup winning side, great things were anticipated from this gifted left footed attacker, particularly after he marked his England debut with two goals.
After an heroic loan spell at West Bromwich Albion, his goal staving off relegation, his star was shining brightly.
Kieran's contract at Manchester United was extended to June 2009 on his 21st birthday.
He joined Sunderland in July 2007 with a four-year contract that was extended to June 2013 in July 2010.
