Having recovered from a ruptured achilles tendon suffered at the start of the 1999-2000 campaign, Kevin made an appearance from the subs' bench in the Worthington Cup tie against Rotherham United but otherwise found opportunities at Barnsley very limited in 2000-01.
He subsequently joined Second Division Brentford on loan in October where he produced some commanding performances but no permanent deal was pursued.
After returning to Oakwell he went on to make his full international debut for Trinidad & Tobago against Panama in a World Cup qualifying tie but then ruptured his other achilles tendon while training on international duty in February and was again sidelined for a lengthy period.
A powerful central defender who has good pace he can also play at left back.
Kevin joined Swansea City in July 2004 on a one-year contract that was extended to June 2007 in May 2005.
