Jussi started 2000-01 just as successfully as he had ended the 1999-2000 campaign.

Having firmly established himself as Bolton Wanderers' first-choice 'keeper, he showed some excellent form, improving his game to the extent that he has few visible weaknesses.

A phenomenal shotstopper, he commanded his box with some authority and he played with much greater confidence than previously.

Unfortunately, Jussi suffered a cruciate ligament injury playing against Tranmere Rovers in January 2001 and this ruled him out of action for the remainder of the season.
Jussi's contract at Bolton Wanderers was extended to June 2008 in April 2006 then to June 2012 in June 2008.
