Full name is: Adelino Jose Martins Baptista.

Having joined West Bromwich Albion towards the end of August 2000, Jordao made his first-team debut at Barnsley just 24 hours after signing.

A strong, athletic player who is comfortable on the ball, it was hoped he would link up with Richard Sneekes and Derek McInnes in the engine-room but he never really settled into Albion's style of play.

His best spell came in the six-week period leading up to early December but he was continuously in and out of the side during the second half of the 2000-01 season.

He scored his first goal in English football in the 4-2 home defeat by Derby County in the Worthington Cup.
