Jonas joined Newcastle United in July 2008 with a five-year contract.
Although he struggled to transfer his early potential into consistent form, the flamboyant Argentine winger took Tyneside by storm following his arrival from Mallorca.
Confusingly used at right-back by his Argentina coach Diego Maradona at the 2010 World Cup.
His contract at Newcastle United was extended to June 2015 in September 2011.
