Jermaine's reputation as a youngster of outstanding quality at Nottingham Forest persuaded Newcastle United to invest £5million in his midfield services before he had reached his 19th birthday.
Jermaine joined Tottenham Hotspur in August 2005 with a five-year contract that was extended to June 2012 in August 2007 and to June 2013 in July 2008.
