He came to prominence when at Serif Tiraspol in Moldova before he moved to Shaktar Donetsk in the 2000 close season. He played in the Olympic games and made his full international debut in March 2001 against Zambia. He has quickly become a regular member of the team playing in all of the African Nations' Cup Finals matches in Mali.
