A young professional with Manchester United but unable to break into their first team. After scoring regularly for Manchester United reserves, George was loaned to Second Division Wycombe Wanderers to cover for injuries and suspensions. He made his senior debut against Port Vale in March and the following week made the starting line-up for the historic FA Cup Sixth Round tie at Leicester City.
Although mostly used as a substitute, he showed many neat touches and good ball control before returning to Old Trafford at the end of the season.
George's contract at Bury was cancelled in May 2004.
