George would be a terrific asset for any team.
A strong tackler, good in the air and capable of scoring from midfield, he was a revelation when he came from Feyenoord to Coventry City for £250,000.
Since then George's form alerted several teams but, after long negotiations, he finally signed for Aston Villa before the start of the 1999-2000 season for a sum of around £4million.
George struggled at the start but, once Villa played him in the middle, he showed what he is capable of.
His contract at Middlesbrough was extended to June 2009 in May 2006.
George joined Hull City in July 2008 with a two-year contract.
He joined Nottingham Forest in July 2011 with a one-year contract.
