Fitzroy featured in a number of early season games for Heart of Midlothian in the 2000-01 campaign, including a UEFA Cup tie against Stuttgart, but then fell out of favour and, in March, he moved south of the border to join Second Division Walsall in a loan deal.
He scored in the first half of his debut for the Saddlers and made a big impression in the handful of games that he played before being injured in the Play-Off Semi Final at Stoke City.
A combative midfield player with good pace and stamina, he can deliver accurate corners and free kicks.
