Darren made his Ipswich Town debut in the UEFA Cup against Helsingborg.
A fast attacking striker. he agreed a new three-year deal with Ipswich Town in June 2003 before joining Charlton Athletic in June 2005 on a four-year contract.
This was extended to June 2010 in July 2006.
Darren joined Tottenham Hotspur in June 2007 with a six-year contract.
He joined Sunderland in July 2009 with a four-year contract.
Darren joined Aston Villa in January 2011 with a contract to June 2015.
