Blanchett, who was previously associated with Queens Park Rangers, Hendon and Northwood, also had trials with Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers before joining Peterborough United.
He was made available for transfer in May 2009.
Blanchett's contract at Peterborough United was cancelled in April 2010.
He joined Crewe Alexandra in July 2010 with a one-year contract.
Blanchett joined Burton Albion in July 2011 with a one-year contract.
He joined York City in July 2012 with a one-year contract that was cancelled in January 2013.
