One of the most versatile players in the squad he can play in any position across the midfield or as a striker. He started at Jubilo Iwata where he made his debut in May 1996 and moved to his current team Yokohama F Marinos for the 2002 season. His best position is in a holding midfield role, but he may not make the starting team as Japan possesses some real talent in his position and he may have to play from the bench. He is an excellent dribbler of the ball and is dangerous from set plays if he is allowed to take them.
