Prior to joining Bury on a short-term contract, Chris Porter had been playing his football for British Universities.
He also had trials at Blackpool and Wigan Athletic.
Chris' contract at Bury was extended to June 2005 in February 2004.
He joined Sheffield United in July 2011 with a two-year contract that was extended to June 2014 in July 2012 and to June 2015 in June 2014.
Chris joined Colchester United in January 2015 with a contract to June 2016 that was extended to June 2017 in August 2017.
He joined Crewe Alexandra in July 2017 with a two-year contract.
